Playa Langosta is a great neighborhood on the southern end of Playa Tamarindo where things are peaceful, mostly residential, and relaxed.

• The name translates to Lobster Beach, as many skin divers used to catch lobsters on the submerged rocks.
• Langosta has picturesque volcanic rock on the north end up to Punta San Francisco and a sandy beach on the southern end bordering Hacienda Pinilla.
• Langosta has a small supermarket that is an easy walk from any part of the neighborhood.
• Great restaurants in Langosta include Cala Moresca at Cala Luna, and Capitan Suizo is a short walk back towards Tamarindo.
• There is a small casino at Langosta in the Barcelo Hotel.
• The Surf Club in Langosta has great bar food and games like pool, ping pong, and darts. They are open till 11PM.
• Langosta borders an estuary on the back side that is home to many species of wildlife.
• Langosta Beach is never crowded.
• There is a good surfing wave at the river mouth of Playa Langosta.
• Pick up volleyball games are often held in front of the Barcelo Langosta.
