Tamarindo Places to See

Deep Sea Fishing - Unless you are prone to sea sickness, we recommend you go on a deep sea excursion. Your captain will take you out to see with all the best fishing tackle, and you'll be fishing for Marlin, Sailfish, Dorado, Tuna, Wahoo and other species of fish in Costa Rica. Punta San Francisco - Punta San Francisco is a great place to go exploring during low tide or to sit and watch the sunset. The volcanic rock has many tide pools in which you'll see fish, crabs, sea snails, anemones and other species.

Tamarindo Estuary - Hire a panga out the mouth of the estuary (there is a national park office). You guide will take you up the estuary into the mangroves to see many species of tropical bird, many plants species, howler monkeys, crocodiles, turtles and species of lizard.

Parque Marino Las Baulas - During nesting season, a visit to Playa Grande to see the Leatherback turtle arrive can be a great experience. See more info on this on surfingplayagrande.com's national park page.
