A Vacation in Tamarindo Costa Rica
Taking a Tamarindo vacation is a great way to spend some time away from home, whether you just want to relax or you wan the most action packed adventure. There are so many activities in Tamarindo from which to choose.
How does this Tamarindo Costa Rica vacation itinerary sound?
Arrival Day:
- Pick up a rental car or be picked up by transportation arranged by Tamarindo Property Management expert, Coastal Property Management.
- Arrive in Tamarindo or Langosta and check into your beautiful Tamarindo vacation rental.
- You may optionally have the property stocked with groceries or catering lined up prior to your arrival.
- Unpack and perhaps enjoy a casual dinner at La Baula, Tamarindo's favorite pizzeria.
- Have a look at the starry sky before you go to bed. There' s a big difference if you come from a smoggy city!
Day 1:
- Sleep in and stroll into Olga's around 10AM for a frozen coffee and perhaps banana bread or a bowl of fruit with granola and yogurt.
- Take a leisurely stroll on the beach and perhaps catch a panga at the estuary for a 2 hour tour to see monkeys, crabs, crocodiles, and many species of tropical bird.
- Return and grab lunch on the beach at Nibana.
- Spend the rest of the day at the beach reading and swimming in the waves.
- Try a great seafood fusion dinner at Season's.
- Catch a cocktail at Bar 1 while watching Endless Summer on the projector.

Day 2:
- Get up earlier and grab a fruit sandwich or a great omelet at Nogui's.
- Walk down to the beach and choose a surf shop for surf lessons at Tamarindo Beach, a great spot for beginners.
- Keep your board for a few more days to get in some more practice.
- Return to your vacation rental to relax and recharge by the pool.
- At late afternoon, head up to Monkey Bar in time for sunset and order cocktails while you watch the sunset over the Pacific. Micheladas are a sort of beer margarita that is popular. Order an "Imperial Michilada" to see if you like it!
- Make your way across the street to enjoy dinner at La Laguna Resto Bar. They have some of the most unique dishes in town and you get to sit right on the beach. Shoes optional!

Day 3:
- Swing by Gil's for an awesome breakfast burrito.
- Have Coastal Property Management line up the bus from Pura Adventura to take you out to the Canopy Tour. They have a 500 meter long zip line and gorgeous views. Horseback riding is an option there too!
- Be back in time for lunch. Maybe pick a table on the beach at The Beach Club, and grab a hamburger.
- Spoil yourself with a gelato afterwards. The Italian place one building south of The Beach Club has some of the best on earth!
- Head to the beach to digest and perhaps walk to Punta San Francisco to look for animals in the tide pools and the pieces of the old ship wreck.
- Grab some sodas or beers at the Super Langosta and head to Langosta Beach for sundown. You can watch surfers in front of the Barcelo or grab a spot further north for more privacy.
- Head to The Surf Club in Langosta for some great bar food and games: pool, ping pong, and darts. They will have whatever sporting events are happening on one of their tvs.
- Head to bed early for a big day on the water.
Day 4:
- Be at the beach in front of El Pescador at 7:30AM to catch a panga out to your Tamarindo deep sea fishing boat. CPM will set you up with a captain with proper fishing tackle and safety features.
- Enjoy snacks and refreshments as your ride out to the shelf.
- Have your lines out and start trolling for huge game fish including Blue and Black Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Tuna, and Wahoo.
- Eat a healthy lunch provided by your captain, perhaps with some sashimi if you already have a tuna on board.
- Return to the beach late afternoon with your edible fish filleted and bagged for you.
- Head to the Automercado for some sesame seeds, oil, wasabi and ginger for tuna or perhaps garlic for whitefish. Grab a good bottle of wine from their international selection.
- Head home to cook your catch. Nothing tastes better than fish caught the same day!
- If still with energy after dinner, perhaps head to local favorite, Sharky's, for a beer and some sports.

Day 5:
- Spend some time relaxing at the beach in the morning.
- Grab a typical lunch at FT's. A casado is the most popular dish. Choice of meet with white rice, black beans, salad, and plantains usually.
- Meet up with either the Marlin del Rey or Blue Dolphin catamarans for an afternoon of snorkeling, swimming and cocktails.
- Return as the sun sets over the water.
- Shower up and head to dinner at Dragonfly, where Tish has some very creative fusion dishes. Try the Thai Beef, crab cakes, or Mahi Mahi. The tenderloin salad is excellent as well.
Day 6:
- Spend some time relaxing at the beach in the morning.
- Have a nice lunch at Nibana on the beach.
- Do a little shopping for some souvenirs. Perhaps some good 1800 Coffee or hammocks are favorites for friends back home.
- Relax at the pool during the afternoon.
- Make your way to La Dolce Vita at the Sea Tower for sunset cocktails. Follow it up with a Lebanese dinner.
- Be sure to confirm your departure time with Coastal Property Management.
Day 7:
